That's all the coverage we have from this game. Hop on to the next tab where Australia and West Indies are battling it out in a T20 in Barbados. Till then, this is Siddharth P, signing off on the behalf of Pradeep, Srivathsa, Kiran and Sriram. Tada
@Madrasmad on Twitter: Albie Morkel to Ashwin - hey, could you take this bag for me? I'll pick it up later.
Botha: The game was evenly poised. The strip was good for batting. The guys were relaxed, that was the motto for the game. I have played quite a bit with Ingram and I know what he can do. He has showed just that at the international stage today. Kallis and Ingram gave a good platform to launch at the end. Gambhir and Robin played a lot of shots, but they were going at only 9 an over. We knew that we would be in the game if we restricted them for a few overs. It was a great crowd, thank you to them for coming out at such a short notice. Coming back to captaincy felt good. We are all looking forward to the IPL. Few of my teammates tonight will be opponents.
Colin Ingram is the Man of the Match for his knock of 78(50).
Cricket South Africa have given an award to Kallis.
After all the fireworks by South Africa, India's has fizzled out. The home side did well to put on a huge score against a listless bowling attack. Kallis and Ingram were the half-centurions while Ontong played a blinder at the end to boost the score above the 200 mark. India started off really well with Gambhir playing sublime strokes and Uthappa struggling to time the ball. Although the required rate was big, India were looking set to get close to it. Rain had the final laugh finally, and it meant that South Africa won the game, surprisingly as Duckworth and Lewis has always gone against them.
The match has been called off! South Africa have won this one-off encounter by 11 runs.
Folks, it's still raining at the Wanderers
The cut-off time is 9 PM local time, that is about 45 minutes from now. From then, the overs will begin to be reduced.
News is just pouring in that it is still raining at the Wanderers. It has lessened, but not to an extent that play can be resumed.
While we wait for any news update, here is a funny one-liner from Twitter. @sunilea says: Duckworth Lewis favoring the proteas #Ripleys.
The players are walking off the field. It has begun to rain harder. The covers are coming on and the crowd goes into 'Boo' mode. If play doesn't restart, South Africa will win by 11 runs.
7.5 | Parnell to Uthappa, 1 run, drives this fuller length delivery crunchily down to long off for a single |
It is drizzling in Johannesburg. Par score right at this stage is 82/0
7.4 | Parnell to Gambhir, 1 run, this one nips in sharply from off stump, Gambhir looks to run it fine, gets an inside edge on the pads and takes a single |
7.3 | Parnell to Gambhir, FOUR, short and wide outside off, Gambhir cuts it over the point fielder for a boundary. Easy pickings for Gambhir, Parnell is bowling too many loose balls |
7.2 | Parnell to Gambhir, FOUR, streaky but they all count. Short and on the body, Gambhir shuffles and looks to pull it fine, gets a top edge which lands just in front of the fine leg boundary and trickles over the rope |
7.1 | Parnell to Gambhir, no run, yorker length delivery on middle, Gambhir goes deep in the crease and squeezes it towards cover, Botha does well to stop it. |
